1. Classification and main structure of voltage transformers

Voltage transformers are mainly divided into two categories according to the principle, and their structure and production process are slightly different:

1.Electromagnetic Voltage Transformer, EVT

Based on the principle of electromagnetic induction, it mainly consists of iron core, primary/secondary windings, insulating parts (such as oil-impregnated paper, epoxy resin), shell (porcelain sleeve or composite material), etc., and is suitable for medium and high voltage (10kV~1000kV) systems.

2.Capacitive Voltage Transformer, CVT

It consists of a capacitive voltage divider (multi-stage series capacitor) and an electromagnetic unit (intermediate transformer, compensation reactor). It is suitable for higher voltage (110kV~1000kV) systems and has both voltage dividing and isolation functions.
